so, you guys probably heard that ea just got taken over by some huge investors, including saudi arabia, in a whopping $55 billion deal. i'm still trying to wrap my head around it, but basically, it means ea is now a private company with a ton of debt to pay off. and, honestly, i'm a bit worried about what this means for their games.

i was reading what shams jorjani, the ceo of arrowhead, the studio behind helldivers 2, had to say about it. he's hoping that ea doesn't just start churning out sequels and mega-franchises, because that would be super boring. i mean, don't get me wrong, i love a good battlefield or mass effect game as much as the next person, but it's also nice to have some variety, you know? and ea has such an amazing catalog of classic games, from the sims to command and conquer, that it would be a shame if they just forgot about all that and focused on the same old franchises.
