Crimson Desert dev Pearl Abyss has announced that its Charting the Unknown DLC will now release on October 29, two weeks on the dot after its original planned launch of October 15. After seven months of a blistering pace of updates for the singleplayer RPG, I feel like I speak for all (most?) of us when I say: Take a breather, champ. It's ok. Please don't rush. We understand. Its new release times are:

News writer Harvey Randall expressed a similar sentiment in August when Pearl Abyss announced it was slowing down the pace of free updates to Crimson Desert in order to focus on DLC development. Since launch, Crimson Desert has added new critters, new chests, a shotgun, new difficulty options, new mounts, boss rematches—too much, really. I haven't played, but my friend keeps telling me about a "kung-fu button" that's supposedly in the game. Is he pulling my leg? Why would I not believe him at this point?

Charting the Unknown's first trailer contained a lot, but features producer Mollie Taylor fixated on the building construction options, something that reminds me of Skyrim's Hearthfire DLC. Mollie said it also showcased "running on water" and "grabbing onto a shark like some sort of aquatic Uber." What do you do in this game, again?

While the delay indicates this DLC is coming in hot, it hardly even feels like anything amid an industry dominated by increasingly lengthy development times. It's like Pearl Abyss is still blowing out the rest of the field in a 1600m race, but is now out of contention to break a world record. It's fine, man. You did enough.
