so i just heard about the new silent hill game, townfall, and i am totally stoked. it's coming out on september 24 for the playstation 5, and from what i've learned so far, it's going to be a really unique entry in the series. the game is set on a remote scottish island, which is already giving me all the creepy vibes. i mean, who doesn't love a good foggy atmosphere, right?

one of the things that caught my attention is that the game is being developed by screen burn interactive, a scotland-based studio. apparently, they were chosen by konami because of their experience with narrative-driven games, which is perfect for a silent hill title. the producer, motoi okamoto, mentioned that he had played some of screen burn's previous games and loved them, so he was confident in their ability to handle the project.

i think it's really cool that the game is set in scotland, not just because of the eerie landscape, but also because it's a chance for the developers to draw from their own experiences and surroundings. the writer and director, jon mckellan, said that scotland is a very foggy region, which makes it a great fit for the silent hill series. plus, it's always exciting to see games that are set in different parts of the world, it adds a bit of freshness to the usual horror game settings.

so, townfall is going to be the first full-length silent hill game to use a first-person perspective, which is a bit of a departure from the traditional third-person view. apparently, this was a coincidence, as another silent hill game, the short message, also used a first-person view, but was developed by a different team. the developersRead more: Full article on blog.playstation.com
