so it's that time of the month again - time to pick our favorite new game from may 2026. i'm kinda excited to see what everyone's been playing, since last month was pretty stacked with cool releases. we had some big ones like 007 first light, directive 8020, lego batman: legacy of the dark knight, and mina the hollower - all super different, but all looking pretty sweet in their own ways.



i love that playstation is doing this whole "players' choice" thing, where they let us vote on the best new game of the month. it's like, our opinion actually matters, you know? they're gonna open up a poll at the end of every month, and we get to pick our fave game from the past few weeks. then, they'll count up all the votes and announce the winner on their social media and blog. pretty simple, but it's a great way to get everyone talking about the latest releases.



so, how do we decide which game to vote for? basically, it's up to us - we just have to think about which game we'd recommend to a friend, if we could only pick one from last month. and, just to clarify, they're not counting re-releases, but remakes are fair game. like, if a game is totally rebuilt from the ground up, like resident evil 4 or final fantasy vii remake, then it's eligible for voting. the playstation blog team will come up with a list of the most notable releases from the month, and we'll get to choose from those.
