oh my gosh, you guys, have you heard about the new mafia: the old country expansion, man of honor? it's coming out on august 14 and i am beyond excited. basically, it's adding two new story chapters that let you team up with ennio salieri, this super respected mafioso, to take care of some old business. i mean, i've always loved the mafia series for its rich storytelling and characters, and this expansion seems like it's going to dive even deeper into that.



i'm also really stoked about the new free ride mode content that's being added. for those who haven't played mafia: the old country yet, free ride mode is like this amazing sandbox experience where you can just explore the sicilian countryside and take on all these different challenges and missions. with the man of honor expansion, you'll get to take on new assignments from salieri himself, which sounds like so much fun. apparently, he's set up shop in this warehouse in porto almaro and is just scheming and smuggling all sorts of goods.



one thing that's really cool about this expansion is that it's exploring salieri's backstory, which i think is going to be really interesting for longtime mafia fans. i mean, we've seen salieri as this powerful don in the city of lost heaven, but now we get to see him when he was younger and still hustling to make a name for himself. the gameplay footage looks amazing, by the way - i love the new weapons and charms that are being added, like this throwing knife that can bounce to a second target. it's just so cool.
