so i just checked out the latest ps store downloads for june 2026, and it's pretty interesting to see what people are playing. in southeast asia, sports games are super popular right now, with nba 2k26 and ea sports fc 26 being the top downloads. i'm not super into sports games myself, but i can see why they're so loved - there's something about the competition and teamwork that's just really captivating.



i'm also loving that dave the diver, a game from a south korean studio, is doing so well in the asia charts. it's always awesome to see games from smaller studios getting the recognition they deserve. and of course, there are the free-to-play games and ps vr2 games that are also getting a lot of love. it's great to see such a diverse range of games being played and enjoyed by people all over the world.

but what's really caught my attention is the difference in download charts between southeast asia and the us/canada. while sports games are huge in asia, the us and canada are all about escape the backrooms, which is all about navigating creepy, empty spaces. i have to admit, that sounds kinda intriguing - i love a good puzzle game, and the idea of exploring eerie environments is right up my alley.
