omg, you guys, the next god of war game is finally here - god of war laufey. i've been waiting for this moment for what feels like forever, and it's so cool that we're getting to play as faye, kratos' wife, this time around. basically, she wakes up in this weird land after her funeral, and she needs to fight her way through the afterlife of the gods to protect kratos and atreus.

i love how the developers at santa monica studio have taken the best parts of the previous god of war games and mixed them together to create something entirely new. they've combined the greek era's movement and fluidity with the norse era's world-building and character focus, and it sounds like it's going to be an incredible experience. the game's all about intimate, brutal combat, exploration of a rich and beautiful world, and a story that's at its heart - everything i love about the god of war series.

one of the things that's really exciting about god of war laufey is the world it's set in - the everywhen. it's like this transcendent realm where all magic returns, and it's the birthplace and endpoint of everything. gods and creatures from different mythologies all come together here, and it's not always peaceful. faye's going to have to navigate this crazy world, meet new characters, and fight against some pretty tough enemies. we've already seen a glimpse of two of the gods she'll encounter - sekhmet and begtse - and they don't seem very friendly.

i'm also stoked that deborah ann woll is reprising her role as faye, and she's not going to be alone on her journey. she's
