so i just heard about this game drop duchy, and i'm totally stoked - it's like a mix of deckbuilding, puzzle, and roguelite all in one, and it's coming to ps5 on april 21. i've been waiting for a game like this for ages, and the fact that it's got a medieval theme is just the icing on the cake.

i love how the game started out as just a simple idea - the dev was into tile-laying board games and wanted to create a video game version. from there, it just evolved into this huge project with so many cool mechanics and features. the fact that you have to place enemy tiles and figure out how to deal with them is just genius - it adds this whole extra layer of strategy to the game.

one of the things that really stands out about drop duchy is the procedural runs and the fact that you have to draft your buildings from a random selection. it makes each game so different and exciting, and you really have to think on your feet to come up with a winning strategy. and with the roguelite elements, there's this sense of urgency and stakes - if you lose a fight, you lose your progress, which makes every decision feel super important.
the dev team has clearly put so much love and care into creating this game, and it shows in the charming atmosphere and adorable pixel art style. i'm especially loving the 2d trees, which give the game this cute diorama feel. and with all the additional content they've added, including new factions, bosses, and game modes, there's just so much to explore and discover.
preorders are available at major retailers, and i'm seriously considering grabbing a copy as soon as it drops. the complete edition
