so i just found out about this new game called saros and i'm super stoked - it's from housemarque, the same devs behind some of my fave arcade games. apparently, it's got a pretty cool storyline too, set on this hostile alien world called carcosa where you play as a character named arjun devraj. he's a soltari enforcer who's part of a rescue crew, but he's also got some secret motives that make things interesting.

one thing that caught my attention is that arjun is played by actor rahul kohli, and there's this whole documentary series called finding carcosa that shows how he brought the character to life. it's pretty cool to see how the devs used performance capture tech to get arjun's personality and emotions just right. i love how rahul talks about his first day on the performance capture stage - he says it felt super weird at first, like he was just standing around in a lycra suit feeling silly. but once he got into it, he started to feel like he was just acting with other actors and a director, without all the distractions of a regular film set.

i think what really makes arjun stand out is that rahul is a gamer himself, so he knew what kind of character would work well in a videogame. he had all these notes and ideas for the script, and it's awesome to see how he collaborated with the devs to bring arjun to life. apparently, they even recorded the teaser trailer on the fly, with rahul stuck in traffic and feeling super worked up - and that's actually where they found the perfect tone for arjun's character. it just goes to show how sometimes, the best things can come from unexpected places
