so i just got my hands on some info about castlevania: belmont's curse and i am totally stoked. it's an action adventure game that's been in the works for four years, and it's coming out on ps5 on october 15. the devs, evil empire, just had their big reveal at the february 12 state of play and they're pretty hyped about it.

i love that this game is going back to the classic castlevania feel, with no roguelite elements or procedurally generated levels. it's all about exploration, combat, and platforming, with a big emphasis on storytelling and character development. the game is set in 1499 paris, which is pretty cool, and you play as rose, the daughter of trevor belmont. she's got a pretty interesting backstory, with a bunch of guilt and a mysterious curse that's affecting her.

the gameplay looks super slick, with really responsive controls and some awesome combat mechanics. you've got a bunch of different weapons to choose from, each with its own style and special moves. and the magic system is looking pretty deep, with a bunch of different spells and abilities to master. i'm also loving the emphasis on exploration, with a big map to discover and plenty of secrets to uncover. the devs are saying that they've tried to capture the essence of the series, and from what i've seen so far, they're definitely on the right track.
