so i just heard that assassin's creed black flag is getting a major overhaul, and i am beyond hyped. it's called black flag resynced, and it's coming to ps5 on july 9. the original game was released over a decade ago, and it's still one of my favorite games in the series. i've always loved the caribbean setting and the pirate vibe, and now it's getting a whole new level of polish and detail.

one of the coolest things about black flag resynced is the new lighting system. it's fully dynamic, which means that the world reacts in real time to changes in time of day, weather, and environment. this is made possible by hardware-accelerated ray tracing, which allows for way more realistic lighting and reflections. i've seen some screenshots, and it looks absolutely stunning - the way the light bounces off the water and the buildings is just wow.

the game also features some really impressive geometry rendering. instead of switching between simplified models as you move through the world, the game uses something called micropolygon geometry pipeline. this means that the geometry is continuously refined based on distance, visibility, and camera perspective, which creates a super smooth and seamless experience. it's hard to explain, but trust me, it looks amazing. and the best part is that it's all made possible by the ps5's ultra-high-speed ssd, which allows the game to instantly stream and render tiny geometric clusters.
