omg, you guys, i am so stoked - the legend of zelda: twilight princess is finally getting a pc port, and it's all thanks to some amazing volunteer developers. i mean, we've seen some incredible fan-made ports in the past, like jak 3, and it's awesome to see twilight princess joining the crew. the best part? it's not just some lazy port, it's a full-on decompilation of the original game code, which means it's been completely rewritten to run natively on pc.

i've been following the progress of twilight princess: courage reborn, and it's crazy to think that the decompilation was actually completed back in late 2025. but, as the devs pointed out, there's still a ton of work to be done to turn that code into a playable pc port, complete with support for higher resolutions and framerates. and, from what i've seen, it's looking pretty promising - the intro segment, which takes place in link's home village, seems to be running smoothly, with no crashes in sight.

one thing to keep in mind, though, is that this port doesn't actually include any of nintendo's proprietary assets, like the game's art and sound files. instead, players will need to provide their own copy of the original game, ripped from a gamecube disc, to make the port work. it's a bit of a hassle, but trust me, it'll be worth it to play this classic game on pc. and, who knows, maybe we'll even see some cool mods pop up, like the one that's already in the works to make linkle a playable character.
