so i just heard that the director of final fantasy 14, yoshi-p, is looking into ways to make the game less overwhelming for new players. and honestly, it's about time - with five expansions and hundreds of hours of content, it's a pretty big commitment to ask of anyone. i mean, i've been playing since the beginning, but if i was starting from scratch now, i'd be totally intimidated by the sheer amount of story and gameplay to get through.
