omg, you guys, remember that palworld dating sim that was announced as an april fools joke a while back? well, it's actually real now and i am totally freaking out. the company, pocketpair, just dropped a new video confirming that palworld: more than just pals is in the works and it's got me so hyped.



so, the announcement video is pretty hilarious, with the head of publishing and communications, bucky, getting totally roasted by the company founder, takuro mizobe. mizobe just silently plays slay the spire 2 the whole time, which is kinda iconic. but anyway, we also get to see some actual gameplay clips, and let me tell you, it looks adorable. there are cute conversations with pals and zoe rayne, but also some pretty dark moments with murder and mystery.



i'm really intrigued by the time loop narrative, where the player character gets shot by some creepy black marketeer. it's giving me some major doki doki literature club vibes, and i am here for it. i love how pocketpair is not afraid to mix cute and dark elements, it's gonna make for a really unique gaming experience. and the best part is, we don't have to worry about it being a joke anymore, bucky explicitly says "it's real" at the end of the video, so we can all breathe a sigh of relief.
