omg, you guys, have you heard that xbox is down right now? like, totally down. it's pretty crazy timing, considering playstation had similar issues just last week. i mean, what's going on with these online services, right?

so, basically, all of xbox's online stuff is out, including the store, profiles, and even gaming. yes, you read that right - even if you have physical copies of games, you still can't play them because of the outage. it's pretty frustrating, especially since some people are paying for games and a monthly subscription to play them. i mean, what's the point of owning a game if you can't even play it when you want to?

i've been reading through some of the comments on the xbox subreddit, and people are not happy. they're saying things like, "why can't i play my games offline?" and "this is what we get for going digital?" it's pretty hard to argue with that, you know? i mean, i love my digital games as much as the next person, but when the service is down, it's like, what's the point? at least with physical copies, you can usually still play them even if the internet is out.

apparently, xbox's engineers are working on the problem, but who knows how long it'll take to fix. it's been a few hours already, and people are getting impatient. i don't blame them, either - when you're in the middle of a gaming session and suddenly can't play anymore, it's pretty annoying. preorders are available at major retailers, but i'm not sure if that's going to be much comfort to people who are stuck at home, unable to play their games.
