so i just saw the new call of duty ads and i'm literally face-palming at the whole thing. basically, xbox is running ads for call of duty: modern warfare 4 with this huge disclaimer that says "not on xbox game pass this year". like, what even is that? it's just so... extra.

apparently, these ads started popping up on facebook, instagram, and threads on june 27, and they're trying to clarify that call of duty games won't be on game pass at launch anymore. which, i guess makes sense, since xbox announced that back in april. they said it's because game pass was making them lose money on sales, and i can see why. i mean, who wouldn't want to pay a few bucks for a month of game pass instead of buying the whole game?

but here's the thing - the way they're handling it is just so awkward. it's like they're trying to apologize for not having call of duty on game pass, instead of just owning it and saying "hey, we're changing our strategy". and the fact that they have to put a disclaimer in the ads is just embarrassing. it's like they're trying to warn people or something. preorders are available at major retailers, by the way, if you're into that sort of thing.
