okay, so i just heard that xbox is doing some major layoffs, and it's pretty sad to see. one of the studios that got hit really hard is id software, which is basically a legendary game dev team. they're the ones behind doom, and they've been working on some new projects that sound super cool.

apparently, they were thinking about pitching a perfect dark reboot, which would be amazing because we haven't had a new perfect dark game since like, 2005. they even had some concept art going on, but now it's unlikely that it'll happen because of all the layoffs. i mean, the studio is basically a shadow of its former self, and it's hard to see how they could pull off a big project like that.

another project that probably won't see the light of day is this john wick-inspired game called "fury". it sounds so awesome - it's got sci-fi and noir elements, and it's all about combining gunplay with martial arts. it's like a cyberpunk game, but with a really unique twist. i would love to play something like that, but it seems like it's not meant to be. at least, not anytime soon.

it's pretty disappointing to see all these cool projects getting cancelled or put on hold. i think id software could have done something really special with perfect dark and fury, but now it's hard to say what they'll be able to do. they've lost so many talented people, and it's not like they can just magically make new games without them. i guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens next, but for now, it's looking pretty bleak.
