omg, you guys - some pretty big news just dropped in the gaming world. the president of wizards of the coast, john hight, is stepping down from his role after only two years. i know, i was surprised too - especially since he came from a big job at blizzard entertainment.



so, what's going on? apparently, john will be moving on to another role on september 1st, but he'll still be working with the company as an advisor. this news comes right after hasbro, the parent company of wizards of the coast, announced that they're canceling some video games that were in development. it's not all bad news, though - games like exodus and warlock: dungeons and dragons are still a go, and they're looking pretty cool.



i'm really interested in exodus, personally - it's like a mix of sci-fi and fantasy, and it's coming out in 2027 for pc, ps5, and xbox series x/s. warlock: dungeons and dragons is also on my radar, and it's got the same release platforms. meanwhile, magic: the gathering arena is already out on android, mac, pc, and ios, so if you're into that sort of thing, you can check it out now.

it's worth noting that wizards of the coast is saying that the strength of their business isn't changing, and that magic: the gathering and dungeons & dragons are still doing really well. they're even launching a search for john's successor, so it'll be interesting to see who they pick and what changes they might make. preorders are available at major retailers, if you're looking to get in on the action.
