omg, you guys, microsoft just got caught shipping xbox controllers without batteries - like, for months now. apparently, they're trying to make it right by sending out free rechargeable battery kits to customers who got ripped off. i mean, it's about time, right? xbox controllers are kinda old school in that they still use regular aa batteries, which is actually pretty cool, but you'd think they'd at least come with some batteries in the box.

so, supposedly, some controllers have been shipping without batteries since december, which is just crazy. i guess microsoft finally noticed and is now trying to fix the problem. they're offering a free rechargeable battery kit, which is actually a pretty sweet deal. it comes with a usb type-c cable, too, which is always handy. and the best part is, this kit normally costs like $25, but you can get it for free if you're one of the unlucky ones who got a battery-less controller.

i'm kinda surprised that xbox controllers still come with disposable batteries, to be honest. i mean, it's not the most eco-friendly option, and it's definitely not the most convenient. but hey, at least microsoft is trying to make it right now. and who knows, maybe this is the start of a new trend - maybe they'll start switching to more sustainable battery options in the future. a girl can dream, right?
