omg, you guys, i just found out about this game called tides of tethys and i'm kinda obsessed. it's like a mix of bioshock and subnautica, but with a strategy twist. you get to build underwater cities and explore the ocean floor, which is literally my favorite thing ever.

so, the game is all about guiding these bathynauts (which are like, underwater explorers) around the ocean floor, building outposts, and managing resources. it sounds pretty complex, but the idea is really cool. you have to deal with all these creepy aquatic creatures, and i'm not even kidding, it's like something out of a horror movie. the demo i played was a bit slow at first, but once i got into it, i was hooked.

one of the coolest things about tides of tethys is that you can basically turn any creature into a mount, which is amazing. i mean, who wouldn't want to ride around on a giant crab? it's like something out of a fantasy novel. the characters themselves are pretty cool too - they're like these big, bulky divers with a bunch of stats and buffs to keep track of. they even have their own little personalities, which is a nice touch.

the graphics are pretty neat, although they can be a bit overwhelming at times. the user interface is definitely a work in progress, but i love the idea of all these curly, gold fonts and stuff. it's like they're going for this whole "steampunk underwater" vibe, which i am totally here for. the scenery is pretty stunning too - there's this one feature where the fog of war looks like this big, oil spill-like thing that oozes back as you explore. itRead more: Full article on www.rockpapershotgun.com
