so, you've probably heard about the whole memory supply crisis thing that's been going on, right? it's like, a big deal in the gaming world, and even the huge companies like amd are feeling the effects. they just released their quarterly earnings report, and while they're still raking in the cash - $10.3 billion, to be exact - they're warning that the gaming revenue is gonna take a hit in the second half of the year. like, a big hit. we're talking over 20% decline.

i guess it's not super surprising, considering how expensive memory and other components are getting. i mean, have you seen the prices of pc parts lately? it's crazy. and with the ps5 being one of the consoles that uses amd's hardware, it's no wonder they're expecting a decline in that area too. the ps5 is getting a bit old, anyway - it came out in 2020, so we're probably due for a new console soon. but still, it's kinda sad to think that the gaming side of things is gonna be affected so much.

so, what does this mean for us gamers? well, for starters, it might be a good idea to hold off on buying any new pc parts or consoles for a bit. prices are only gonna go up, and it's not like we need the latest and greatest stuff to have fun. i'm still rocking my old desktop, and it's doing just fine. plus, there are always plenty of awesome browser games and retro arcades to play around with. and hey, maybe this will encourage companies to get creative with their game development and focus more on making fun, story-driven games rather than just relying on fancy graphics.
