omg, you guys, i just heard that warren spector's new game, thick as thieves, is getting a major overhaul. like, i was super hyped when i first heard about it - a multiplayer immersive sim where you're all trying to pull off the same heist at the same time? yes please. but now, it looks like they're ditching the pvpve aspect altogether and focusing on solo and co-op play instead.

i'm a bit torn about this, to be honest. on the one hand, i can see why they'd want to make this change. competitive multiplayer games can be super tough to get right, and the market is pretty saturated right now. plus, immersive sims aren't always the biggest sellers, so maybe this is just a smart financial move. but on the other hand, i was really looking forward to seeing how they'd pull off that whole pvpve thing. it sounded so cool and ambitious, even if it was a bit of a risk.

so, what does this mean for the game now? apparently, the devs are "doubling down" on the stealth gameplay, which is supposed to be really dynamic and fun. we'll get to see more of it in action at the triple-i initiative showcase next week, where they'll be showing off a new gameplay trailer. i'm definitely curious to see how it all plays out. the game is still coming to ps5, xbox series x/s, and pc, and preorders are available at major retailers.
