omg, you guys, i just found out that the new steam controller has this insane easter egg - it lets out a wilhelm scream when you drop it. like, what even is that? i'm kinda obsessed with this quirky little feature, and i'm definitely gonna try it out on my own controller.



apparently, it was discovered by some reddit user, and at first, i was super skeptical. i mean, it's easy to fake a sound effect, right? but then i saw the videos and read more about it, and it seems like it's actually a real thing. the scream is pretty quiet, so you have to drop the controller from a decent height to get it to work. and, funnily enough, it has a cooldown period, so you can't just keep dropping it over and over again.



i'm not entirely sure how it works, but i'm guessing it's got something to do with the haptic motors. they're pretty powerful, and i can see how they could be programmed to make sounds. it's not like the controller has a built-in speaker or anything, but i guess that's what makes this easter egg so cool. it's like valve just sneakily added it in there for fun.

i've gotta say, i'm loving the new steam controller so far. it's got some really unique features, and this wilhelm scream thing is just the cherry on top. preorders are available at major retailers, and it's priced at $99, which isn't too bad considering all the cool stuff it can do. i'm definitely gonna be playing around with it more, and i'd love to hear from you guys if you've got one too.
