omg, you guys, have you heard the latest news about the steam controller? it just launched on may 4 and totally sold out in like 30 minutes, which is crazy. i'm still waiting to get my hands on one, but in the meantime, valve just dropped some amazing news for all the modders out there. they've released the cad files for the steam controller and its rechargeable puck, which means we can now 3d print our own custom designs.

i'm super stoked about this, because i've been thinking about how i can make my steam controller stand out from the crowd. dbrand already has some cool skins available, but i'm not totally sold on their designs. and let's be real, some of them are pretty pricey. i'm way more excited about the possibility of creating my own unique look, maybe something that matches my favorite game aesthetic. valve is being really cool about it too, releasing the files under a creative commons license that lets us share our creations as long as we give them credit.

one thing to note is that the creative commons license has some restrictions - we can't sell our custom creations without getting in touch with valve first. but from what i've seen, valve is actually pretty chill about this kind of thing. they've allowed fans to sell remixed merchandise based on their games in the past, so i'm hoping they'll be open to some cool commercial projects based on the steam controller. i'd love to see some crazy custom designs hit the market, maybe even some limited edition collaborations with other gaming companies.

i'm still waiting to hear when the steam controller will be back in stock, but in the meantime, i'm having fun browsing all the possibilities for custom designs. preorders are available at major retailers,Read more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
