omg, you guys, it's been like forever since we first heard rumors of a steam deck 2, and i'm still super hyped about it. the original steam deck was such a game changer for me, i mean, being able to play all my steam games on the go was a total dream come true. and now, valve is working on a major upgrade, which is amazing news.

so, apparently, the steam deck 2 is still in the works, but there's no release date in sight just yet. pierre-loup griffais, one of the designers, said that they're "hard at work" on the new device, which is great to hear. but, the thing that's holding them back is finding a suitable new chip that's both powerful and efficient. i can understand that, i mean, they want to make sure the new steam deck is a significant upgrade, not just a minor tweak.

i've been thinking, and it's kinda crazy that it's been over four years since the original steam deck came out. and, in that time, we've seen some major advancements in tech, especially from amd. their new apus are so much more powerful than the ones used in the original steam deck, but they're still not quite what valve is looking for. apparently, they're waiting for something that's a major leap forward, not just a small improvement. i'm a bit impatient, but i get it, they want to make sure the steam deck 2 is worth the wait.
