i mean, i was really looking forward to getting my hands on a steam controller, but every time i tried to buy one, the site would crash or they'd be out of stock. and, of course, the resellers are having a field day, charging like three times the price just because they can. it's not cool, you know? valve's definitely aware of the problem, though, and they're doing something about it - they're introducing a reservation system for the steam controller, which is set to go live on may 8.

this is actually a pretty great solution, if you ask me. i mean, it's way better than just having to constantly refresh the page and hope you get lucky. with the reservation system, you can just sign up and wait your turn, without having to worry about resellers or bots snatching up all the stock. it's similar to what they did with the steam deck, which worked out pretty well despite the wait times being kinda long. i think this is a much more chill way to buy tech, you know? you just reserve your spot and wait for your turn, rather than having to fight for it.
