omg, you guys, i just heard the worst news - supermassive, the studio behind until dawn and little nightmares 3, is going through another round of layoffs. like, this is their third time in two years, which is just heartbreaking. they're expecting to let go of up to 75 people, which is a huge chunk of their team.

i'm still trying to wrap my head around why this is happening, but apparently it's all about ensuring the company can survive in the long run. they mentioned something about adapting to changes in the industry, which makes sense, i guess. but it's hard not to feel for the people who are going to lose their jobs. supermassive is trying to be supportive, though, which is nice to see. they're going to be helping those affected through the whole process, which is the least they can do, right?

so, if you're wondering what games supermassive is actually known for, let me tell you - they're the masters of cinematic horror. until dawn is one of my all-time faves, and the dark pictures anthology series is pretty cool too. they also just released directive 8020, which got some mixed reviews, but hey, at least they're still trying to push out new content. and who could forget little nightmares 3, which they took over from the original studio? that was a big deal, even if it didn't quite live up to the hype.
