so i just heard about marathon, this new game from bungie, and i'm pretty stoked. apparently, the creative director julia nardin wants to make sure that players can just jump in whenever they feel like it, without having to worry about missing out on some huge part of the story. which, let's be real, is a major problem with destiny 2 - i mean, who hasn't felt lost because they couldn't play some old content that got vaulted?

it sounds like bungie is trying to learn from their mistakes and do things differently with marathon. nardin said that they want every season to be a new entry point, so new players can just start playing and understand what's going on without needing to know the entire backstory. and the best part is, players will always be able to uncover the mysteries of tau ceti's past, which is just so cool. i love that they're prioritizing community involvement and want players to help shape the story over time.

i'm also intrigued by the way they're involving the community in the story already. for example, there was this crazy-hard cryo archive map that players had to unlock through an arg (alternate reality game), which is just so my thing. i love a good puzzle, and it sounds like marathon is going to have plenty of those. although, i do wonder if it might be a bit too intense for casual players - i mean, not everyone is into solving complex puzzles just to unlock a map.

in terms of platforms, marathon is coming out on ps5, xbox series x/s, and pc, which is pretty standard these days. and, of course, there's an ios version too, because why not, right? preorders are available at major retailers, so youRead more: Full article on www.rockpapershotgun.com
