okay, so you guys might've heard that the president of wizards of the coast, john hight, is stepping down from his role. this is pretty big news, especially since it's only been two years since he took the job. i'm kinda curious to see what's gonna happen next, since wizards of the coast is basically the company behind magic: the gathering and dungeons & dragons - two of my fave games ever.



so, apparently john hight is gonna be moving on from the president role on september 1st, but he's not leaving the company completely. he's just gonna be shifting into an advisor role, which is pretty cool, i guess. i mean, it's not like he's being kicked out or anything. the company's still gonna be using his expertise, just in a different way. and, you know, it's not like the company's doing badly or anything - magic: the gathering and dungeons & dragons are still super popular, and they've got some new video games coming out soon.



i did hear that this is happening at a pretty interesting time, though. like, the dev team behind magic: the gathering arena just formed a union, which is a big deal. they're calling it the united wizards of the coast, and they're working with the communications workers of america. i'm not really sure what's gonna happen with that, but it's definitely something to keep an eye on. and, you know, it's not like the company's ignoring it or anything - they're just, like, looking for john hight's successor and stuff.
