oh my gosh, you guys, i just found out that there's been a hidden third-person view mode in metal gear solid 2 for like, 15 years now. it's crazy to think that it's been sitting there, waiting to be discovered, and it's all thanks to a fan project called mgshdfix. they've been working on smoothing out bugs and making the game look even better, and now they've stumbled upon this amazing secret.

apparently, the mode was hidden behind a single variable in the game's code, and all it takes is a tiny tweak to unlock it. the person behind mgshdfix, afevis solmunko, found it by accident and shared a video of it in action - it looks so cool. the camera is a bit wonky in tight corridors, but other than that, it's like playing a whole new game. i love that the modders are working on fixing the glitches and making it even better.
