omg, you guys, remember that super cool trailer for state of decay 3 back in 2020? the one with the zombified deer? i was so stoked about the idea of undead wildlife, and i'm sure i'm not the only one. but, as it turns out, there wasn't even a game or team at the time - just a concept in a word document.

apparently, the trailer was all pre-rendered and created with the help of some fancy visual effects and animation studio. it was more like a "hey, this could be cool" idea, rather than an actual representation of the game. and, sadly, it seems like the zombified animals are not going to be a thing. i mean, i'm still pretty hyped about the game, but it's a bummer that we won't get to see any zombie deer or whatever.

i guess it's not too surprising, given that undead labs didn't even plan to announce the game back then. supposedly, microsoft just wanted some trailers from their key studios to hype up the xbox series x/s launch, and state of decay 3 was one of them. the devs themselves said they didn't even know what the game was at that point, which is kinda crazy. but, hey, at least we're getting closer to actually seeing the game now.

undead labs just announced sign-ups for an alpha playtest, which is pretty exciting. we can finally get an early look at the game, even if it's not going to have undead animals. it'll feature four-player co-op, some new base building and resource strategies, and plenty of combat, so that sounds like a lot of fun. i'm definitely going to check it out and see what it's allRead more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
