i think it's pretty cool that nintendo, universal pictures, and illumination now have the two highest-grossing video game movie adaptations of all time, with the super mario bros. movie from 2023 still holding the top spot at $1.36 billion. i've heard mixed reviews about the super mario galaxy movie, but it's clear that it's resonated with audiences, especially in the us where it's made over $428 million.
