so, you guys know how sometimes game devs will just delist the original version of a game and replace it with some "updated" version that's supposed to be way better? yeah, that just happened with dead or alive 6, and let me tell you, it's been a total mess. the new version, called dead or alive 6 last round, is currently sitting at 70% negative reviews on steam, which is just... wow.

i mean, what's even the point of releasing a new version of a game if it's just going to have the same old problems, plus some new ones? for example, the dlc is actually more expensive in the rerelease, which is just ridiculous. and if you try to transfer your save from the old version, you'll still have to pay for some of the characters and costumes all over again. it's like, come on, devs, don't you want us to actually enjoy your game?

one of the biggest complaints about dead or alive 6 last round is that it's just so... barebones. visually, it's not even that different from the original, except for one stage that got a lighting upgrade. and the only really "new" feature is a photo mode, which, i guess, is kind of cool if you're into that sort of thing. but seriously, it's not like it's a game-changer or anything. and don't even get me started on the lack of rollback netcode or crossplay - it's just, like, what are you even doing, koei tecmo?
