omg, you guys, 11 bit studios just dropped some major news - they're working on a brand new frostpunk game, and it's not even a city builder. i know, i'm just as surprised as you are. apparently, it's going to be a whole new genre, which is kinda exciting but also terrifying at the same time. i mean, what if it's a roguelite or something? please no.



anyway, this news comes from their latest earnings report, where they also mentioned that they're doing pretty well financially, despite some challenges. they're all about creating new games, publishing games, and making money from their existing ones. and, they're really into this whole live service thing, where they keep developing games even after they're released. their creative director, michał drozdowski, said that they think of their games as projects that are still being developed after they're out, and that they're all about listening to the community.



i'm also super stoked to hear that they're reimagining this war of mine, which is an old favorite of mine. it's a survival game that's all about trying to stay alive in a war-torn country, and it's really emotional and intense. i'm curious to see how they'll approach this game now, especially with everything that's going on in the world. and, of course, there's frostpunk 1886, which is still in the works and expected to come out in 2027 or 2028. preorders are available at major retailers, so you can already start getting excited about that.
