omg, have you guys heard about the god of war tv series? it's been in the works for a while now, and i've been low-key excited to see how it turns out. but, apparently, the production just hit a major roadblock. the actor who was supposed to play kratos, ryan hurst, got seriously hurt on set while doing a stunt. like, he tore his bicep, which is pretty brutal.



apparently, the injury is bad enough that he'll need a few months to recover, and the production team can't just wait around for him to get better. they're on a tight schedule, and delaying the whole project until 2027 isn't an option. so, they've decided to recast the role of kratos, which is kinda sad. ryan hurst was really getting into character, too - he even gained 40 pounds of muscle to look more like the god of war. i saw some pics of him in costume, and he was looking pretty intimidating.



i'm not sure what to make of this news, to be honest. on the one hand, it's always a bummer when someone gets hurt, especially when they're really passionate about a project. but, on the other hand, i'm still pretty stoked about the idea of a live-action god of war series. i just hope they can find someone who can do the character justice. preorders are available at major retailers, but i'm not sure if that's even relevant anymore, given the setback.
