And that's not mentioning the new horse!

Another day, another opportunity for some horsing around! I'm being literal here, to be clear, as a new update for The Legend of Khiimori dropped yesterday. It's called The Mongolian Expanse, opening up the map a whole lot more and making a sweep of other additions to the game.

Previously, you might have looked out unto the snowy mountainscapes and the scorching deserts and thought "boy howdy am I glad I can't go there, those temperatures look like a nightmare to deal with!" Well, good news, as you now can head to those locales, each with "their own waystations, Yam nodes, named places, chests and bandit caches."

You don't want to wander there without some amount of prep, however, as the mountains are cold and difficult to climb, with wolves none too kind to humans like you. The desert, of course, is really hot, for both you and your horse. Both additions remind me of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and its use of extreme temperatures acting as a sort of challenge gate. Neat stuff!

The buck doesn't stop there with this update though. You'll find a whole host of new wildlife, ranging from wild boars, to gobi bears and camels. Of course, a horse game wouldn't be one without more horse, which there is! It's a new breed called the Marwari, a horse that is "built for endurance and especially resistant to heat, a strong partner for long, punishing Desert crossings." Beyond that, you'll also find more than 60 new horse skills, all findable across specific regions and for specific breeds.

It's a nice beefy update with plenty more tweaks, additions and fixes on top of everything mentioned above. When it comes to the mountains and desert, you can also expect some big additions there, as this is only the first part of this update. You can read about everything else the update offers right here on Steam.
