omg, you guys, i just read the most fascinating interview with raphael colantonio, the co-founder of arkane studios. he's basically a legend in the gaming world, and it's so cool to get a glimpse into his gaming habits and what he's been playing lately.

so, apparently, colantonio got into pc gaming because of his love for ultima - he was obsessed with ultima 7 and didn't want to miss out on it. this led him to buy a pc, which ended up being an amazing decision since it opened up a whole new world of gaming possibilities for him. he even went on to co-found arkane studios, which developed some incredible games like dishonored and prey.

i found it really interesting that colantonio's current gaming obsessions include some pretty unique titles, like mewgenics. he admitted that he wasn't entirely sure what to expect from the game, but it kind of grew on him over time. it's a turn-based combat game with a metagame that's still a bit confusing to him, but he loves the unpredictability of it - sometimes you get an amazing run, and other times it's just really frustrating.

he also talked about playing into the breach and xcom, which are both tactics games that he enjoys playing but wouldn't be good at designing himself. it's really cool to see a game developer being so humble and honest about their own strengths and weaknesses. and, of course, he had to share his thoughts on cyberpunk - he finished the game, but wasn't entirely blown away by it. he loved the production quality and the story, but felt like he could see the "strings" behind the game, if you know what i mean.
