omg, you guys, i just found out about this amazing new game called songs of glimmerwick and i am totally obsessed. it's a wizard school life sim that's been in the works for seven years, and it's finally getting a playable demo this year. i've been searching for a game like this for ages, something that's all about magic and adventure without any of the, you know, problematic baggage that comes with some other franchises.

so, in songs of glimmerwick, you play as a new student at this super cool magical university called etchery. you get to tend to the school gardens, grow your own ingredients for potions, and even learn to play a magical flute that helps you cast spells. the game has this adorable storybook-style art that reminds me of other games like mirthwood and wildermyth. it's all very whimsical and charming, and i am totally here for it.

the demo just covers your first couple of days at school, but it's enough to give you a taste of what the game is all about. you've got limited energy each day, so you have to prioritize what you want to do - whether that's attending classes, tending to the garden, or exploring the nearby village. there are also these daily letters and a calendar that keep you on track with events and quests. i love how the game is all about exploration and discovery, and i found myself getting totally lost in the world of glimmerwick.

now, i will say that the demo does show a few rough edges - the rhythm game bits can be a bit clunky, and the controls for using magic in the garden are a tad fiddly. but honestly, i was so enchanted by the game that i didn't even careRead more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
