so i just heard that take-two interactive, the company behind rockstar games, has let go of their entire ai team - and i'm kinda shocked, to be honest. i mean, it's not like they're a small company or anything, and ai is a big deal in the gaming world right now. but i guess their boss, strauss zelnick, isn't really into the whole ai thing - he's been pretty vocal about how he doesn't think it's creative enough.

i think what's really interesting about this is that take-two is going against the trend here - lots of other game companies are investing big time in ai, and it's changing the way they make games. some people might see this as a bad thing, but personally, i'm a bit skeptical about how much ai should be involved in game development. i love pixel art and old-school games, and there's just something about them that feels more... human, i guess.
