so i just heard about this new subscription service called indie pass, and honestly, i'm kinda skeptical. it's supposed to be like a cheaper version of game pass, but just for indie games. the idea is that you pay $6.99 a month and get access to a bunch of games from smaller developers.

i think what's putting me off is that i've never really heard of most of the games that are gonna be on the service. i mean, they're all from this one publisher called indie.io, and they're saying they're gonna add more games over time, but i dunno... it just doesn't seem that impressive to me. plus, the way it works is that developers get paid based on how much time people spend playing their games, which sounds kinda weird.

i've been seeing a lot of people talking about indie pass on social media, and most of them seem to be pretty negative about it. some people are saying it's a bad deal for developers, and that it could actually hurt the gaming community as a whole. i'm not sure i agree with that, but i can see why people would be worried. i mean, do we really need another subscription service?
apparently, the people behind indie pass think it's gonna be a great way for developers to get their games out there and discovered by more people. and i guess that's true - it can be really hard for indie games to get noticed, especially with so many new games coming out all the time. but at the same time, i'm not sure i want to pay another monthly fee just to play a bunch of games that i might not even like. preorders are available at major retailers, but i'm not sure if i'm gonna bother.
