omg, you guys, subnautica 2 is finally getting an early access release date - may 14th is the day. i'm low-key surprised it's happening so soon, considering all the drama that's been going on behind the scenes. the game's been in development for ages, and it's been a wild ride with the studio and publisher at odds over when and how it should be released.



apparently, the original plan was to release subnautica 2 in the second half of 2025, but then the publisher, krafton, decided to delay it into 2026. and let me tell you, it got messy - there were accusations flying everywhere, and even the studio's leadership got gutted. but in a crazy twist, the old ceo got reinstated in march, and now we've got a may release date. i'm not sure what to expect, to be honest.



i mean, the publisher was saying that the game wasn't ready for early access, and that releasing it too soon would hurt the franchise. but then they just dropped that claim, and now we're getting the game in may. it's all a bit confusing, and i'm not sure who to believe. but hey, at least we're getting the game, right? it's currently the most wishlisted game on steam, so there's definitely a lot of hype around it.
