so i just heard that the devs of subnautica 2 are saying it's more of an exploration game than a survival one, which i think is really cool. i mean, don't get me wrong, the survival elements in the first game were super intense and fun, but the real magic happened when you were swimming through the ocean, discovering new creatures and ruins. it's like, the survival stuff was just a way to make the exploration feel more real and urgent.

apparently, the devs have been working on refining the survival systems in subnautica 2, while keeping the focus on exploration. they've added some quality of life improvements, like being able to share items between lockers more easily, which sounds like a total game changer. and, of course, the graphics are going to be way better, which is always a plus. but what really caught my attention was the fact that they've added currents to the ocean, which can sweep you away to new and unexpected places. that sounds so thrilling and a bit terrifying at the same time.

i love that the devs are going for a darker, more dynamic lighting system in subnautica 2. the first game had such a great atmosphere, and it sounds like they're really building on that. the bioluminescence is going to be way more vivid, which i can only imagine is going to be gorgeous. and, let's be real, the sea monsters are a huge part of what makes subnautica so awesome. this time around, we're getting a whole new set of alien creatures to discover, including giant crabs and massive squids. i'm already getting nervous just thinking about it.
