omg you guys, have you noticed the crazy amount of retail sims popping up on steam lately? it's like, every week there's a new batch of them, and they all seem to be doing pretty well despite looking kinda... basic. i mean, i'm not complaining or anything - there's something weirdly appealing about unpacking boxes and operating checkouts, right?

so, last week alone, there were 14 new retail sims released on steam. and i'm not counting those idle games or horror games set in retail environments, either - i'm talking about the full-on, first-person retail sims where you get to run your own shop. you know, the ones where you buy and sell stock, manage your store, and all that jazz. they're all pretty similar, but hey, that's part of the charm, right? some of them even have a strategic "tycoon" element, but let's be real, it's all about the menial tasks.

i checked out the stats for the new releases, and it's pretty interesting to see which ones are doing well. boba cafe simulator is killing it, with over 7,500 concurrent players at its peak - and it's got a ton of positive reviews, too. bookshop simulator is also looking pretty good, with a more stylized presentation than the others. and then there's mall together, which lets you build and manage your own mall - that one's doing pretty well, too. preorders are available at major retailers, btw.

what's really wild is that some of these games are being published by playway, a polish publisher that seems to be churning out these retail sims like crazy. they've got over 470 games on steam, and they just keep releasing more. itRead more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
