omg, you guys, have you heard about the new star wars game that's actually a tactics game? like, i know what you're thinking - star wars and tactics don't exactly go hand in hand, but apparently the founder of the studio behind it, greg foertsch, is super stoked that lucasfilm and respawn are giving them a chance to try something new.

i mean, let's be real, the gaming industry can be pretty derivative at times, and it's not often that you see big companies taking risks on smaller studios or lesser-known genres. but it seems like lucasfilm and respawn are all about trying new things, and i am here. for. it. foertsch said that they're basically taking a chance on a brand new studio to make a game that's outside of their usual norms, and i think that's pretty cool.

apparently, the team at zero company (the studio behind the game) has some experience with turn-based tactics, having worked on marvel's midnight suns in the past. and while that game didn't exactly do amazingly well commercially, it was still a great game, and i'm hoping that this new star wars game will follow in its footsteps. i mean, who doesn't love a good star wars game, right?
one of the things that foertsch mentioned in an interview is that it's not often that you see big companies like lucasfilm and respawn taking risks on smaller studios or lesser-known genres. but it seems like they're all about trying new things and giving their audience something different, which i think is pretty awesome. and who knows, maybe this game will be the start of something new and exciting in the star wars universe.
