so i just heard that square enix isn't confirming a physical disc release for final fantasy 7 revelation yet, and i'm a bit worried. the game is set to come out in spring 2027, which is pretty soon, and i really want to have a physical copy to add to my collection. i mean, who doesn't love holding the actual game in their hands, right?



apparently, the game's director, naoki hamaguchi, is pushing for a physical release, which gives me a bit of hope. he mentioned that they're still discussing the details of the game's release, including whether or not it'll come on disc. i'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll decide to go for it, especially since the last two games in the remake trilogy had physical releases. it would be pretty cool if they could make it happen, especially since we're talking about a game that's going to be released before sony stops making ps5 discs altogether.



one thing that's got me curious is whether the game will come on multiple discs, like the previous two games did. hamaguchi mentioned that they're considering the storage limits on different platforms, which makes sense. i mean, the switch 2 has those tiny game cards, and the ps5 discs can only hold so much data. it'll be interesting to see how they decide to handle it, and whether they'll be able to fit the whole game onto a single disc.
