omg, you guys, i just stumbled upon this super interesting tidbit about the zelda series. apparently, shigeru miyamoto, the creator of the series, thinks that zelda 2 was kind of a letdown. like, it was still a commercial success and all, but it just didn't live up to the hype of the original game.



i can see why, though. zelda 2 is pretty different from the other games in the series, and it often gets left behind in polls and stuff. it's like the black sheep of the family, you know? miyamoto even said that the game was his original idea, but it was developed by a different team, and that's probably why it didn't turn out as expected. usually, his games get better during development, but this one just stayed the same.



it's pretty interesting to see how nintendo views zelda 2, though. apparently, they don't really consider it a direct sequel to the original game. instead, they think of it as more of a side story. and if you ask me, that makes sense. i mean, the game does play pretty differently from the others, and it's not like it's a bad game or anything. it's just...different. and if we're being real, a link to the past is definitely a more fitting sequel to the original game.
