omg, you guys, i just stumbled upon this super interesting tidbit about the zelda series. apparently, shigeru miyamoto, the creator of the series, thinks that zelda 2 was kind of a letdown. like, it was still a commercial success and all, but it just didn't live up to the hype of the original game.

i can see why, though. zelda 2 is pretty different from the other games in the series, and it often gets left behind in polls and stuff. it's like the black sheep of the family, you know? miyamoto even said that the game was his original idea, but it was developed by a different team, and that's probably why it didn't turn out as expected. usually, his games get better during development, but this one just stayed the same.
