so i just heard that the people behind umamusume: pretty derby, scopely, are investing in a new company called studio auknow. this is kinda big news for me because i've been low-key obsessed with umamusume for ages - i mean, who doesn't love anime horse racing, right? apparently, the director of umamusume is starting this new studio, and scopely is backing it, which could lead to some really cool new games.



i have to admit, i'm a bit curious about what kind of games studio auknow will be making. will they be more anime-style horse racing games, or will they try something completely different? since scopely is a mobile game publisher, i'm guessing their first game will probably be on mobile, but who knows, maybe they'll surprise us with a pc or console release. either way, i'm excited to see what they come up with.



i also noticed that scopely has been in the news lately for some other reasons, like apologizing for a backlash against one of their other studios. apparently, some people were upset about the use of ai in game development, and scopely said they wouldn't use it without telling everyone first. i'm not really sure how i feel about ai in games, but i do know that i love the pixel art style of some of my favorite browser games, and i hope studio auknow will have a similar aesthetic.
