omg, you guys, i just found out that capcom cut an entire chapter from resident evil requiem before it was released. i'm still trying to wrap my head around it, but apparently it's all part of the development process. the game's director, koshi nakanishi, recently talked about how they have to be super selective about what makes it into the final game.

i think it's pretty interesting that nakanishi compared the process to editing a video or text. they have to cut out anything that's not essential to the story or gameplay, even if it's something that the team worked really hard on. it makes sense, though - sometimes less is more, and it's better to have a more focused experience than a bloated one. i've played requiem and i have to say, it feels really tight and well-paced, so i guess their approach paid off.

nakanishi also talked about how they don't just cut things out at the last minute, but rather make repeated revisions throughout the development process. it's a pretty rigorous process, and i can imagine it would be tough for the team to see their work get cut. but at the end of the day, it's all about creating the best game possible, and if that means cutting some content, then so be it. requiem has been a huge success, and it's easy to see why - the gameplay is amazing, and the story is so engaging.

i'm curious to know more about the cut chapter, but nakanishi didn't go into too much detail. maybe we'll find out more in the future, but for now, it's just a interesting footnote in the game's development history. requiem is available on ps5, xbox series x/s, pc,Read more: Full article on www.eurogamer.net
