i just heard some news that's got me thinking about my old paradox account - you know, the one i made ages ago to play all those grand strategy games? apparently, paradox is planning to do a big cleanup of inactive accounts, and if you haven't logged in since sept 2025, your account might get deleted next march.

i'm not too worried about it, to be honest. i mean, if you're an active player, you're probably fine. just logging in through the game launcher is enough to keep your account alive, so it's not like you need to go out of your way to visit the paradox website or anything. and even if your account does get deleted, your local save files and owned games will still be safe - they're not tied to your account, so you won't lose access to any of your games.

but, i guess there is one situation where this could be a problem. if you've got an unclaimed game code attached to your paradox account, and you lose access to that account, you might not be able to claim your game. but apparently, paradox has a support channel that can help you sort that out, so it's not the end of the world. preorders are available at major retailers, by the way, if you're thinking of picking up a new game to get your account active again.

i think this cleanup is probably a good idea, to be honest. i mean, it's not like paradox is trying to be sneaky or anything - they're just trying to keep their systems running smoothly, and getting rid of old inactive accounts is a good way to do that. and hey, if you're not playing paradox games anymore, maybe it's time to start a new save in crusader kings or something.Read more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
