so i just heard about this new game called alien deathstorm from rebellion, the devs behind sniper elite and atomfall. apparently it's a retro-style sci-fi fps with a pretty sweet 80s vibe, think old-school tech and apocalyptic landscapes. the title itself is pretty self-explanatory - aliens, storms, death... you get the idea.

i have to say, i'm a bit mixed about the alien designs. they're going for that stranger things look, which is okay, i guess. but i mean, rebellion has worked with the actual alien franchise before, so it's a bit weird they're not using those iconic creatures. still, the trailer looks pretty cool, with lots of fast-paced action and some really neat period details like led ammo counters and old-school computer screens.

one thing that caught my attention is that the game promises to have some sections where you're underpowered, which sounds like it could be a fun challenge. it's not all about mowing down aliens, apparently - sometimes you'll have to be careful and strategic. and then there's the deathstorm itself, which is supposed to be this persistent threat that you'll have to navigate around. i'm hoping it's more than just a cool backdrop, but we'll see.
as for release details, alien deathstorm is set to drop in 2027 on ps5, xbox series x/s, and pc via steam. preorders are available at major retailers, if you're already sold on the idea. personally, i'm pretty stoked to see how this one turns out - it looks like a solid friday night game, you know? not too complicated, just a fun, action-packed ride with some cool retro flair.

i'm also loving the little touches they've included, like theRead more: Full article on www.rockpapershotgun.com
